Moses Mod

The Moses Mod is a very useful mod. Barring the religious aspect of it, it retains a very key feature of, as you can probably guess, creating a dry path in a body of water. It’s a very simple mod but the application is enormous. You could in theory clear an entire ocean if you wanted with a few simple right-clicks and then replace it all with another right-click.

What makes this mod really neat is how you obtain the Moses Staffs, of which there are two, The Staff of Moses and The Burnt Staff of Moses. You have to actually light a bush on fire and throw a stick into it and the Staff of Moses will drop.

The Burnt staff is a little more difficult since you have to grab it before it burns. To get that one you have to throw a regular staff in lava. The Burnt Staff is used for, yep you guessed it, clearing a lava path.

Gravity Gun Mod

If you’ve ever played Half-Life 2, you will enjoy this mod. It adds both the Gravity Gun and the Supercharged Gravity Gun to Minecraft.

Essentially you can use it to pick up almost any block in the game as well as animals and either set them back down or throw them. Throwing an animal will damage them as well as throwing a block at an animal or mob will also damage them.

It’s a very useful mod for moving blocks without damaging them.

Falling Meteors

The falling meteors mod is exactly how it sounds and is an interesting mod if only for the addition of new armor and items, plus you have the added worry of a meteor falling on your house. The new armor/tool enchantments will aid you in walking on water, faster underwater mining, fire immunity, and many more.

You can craft meteor detectors that will alert you of the nearest meteor to you, where the next one will fall, and where meteor crash sites are. And you can even build shields to help protect your structures.

The meteors fall to earth and make craters with different minerals to collect depending on the type of fallen meteor. There’s also an added alien mob that can spawn on impact.

Craftable Animals

The Craftable Animals mod allows you to craft all the available mobs plus it has an add-on for the Mo’creatures mod that allows you to craft those mobs as well.

Once you create the “Animal Bow” and have the desired crafted animal in your inventory then it’s just a matter of shooting the bow in your farm or anywhere else really…

…and voila, instant animal.

There’s even a minimizer tool that will allow you to shrink or re-grow your animals. And you can even fill empty Spawner cubes with an animal of your choice.

Carpenter’s Blocks

Mineshopper’s Carpenter’s Blocks Mod adds customizable blocks to Minecraft that provides an interesting aesthetic to your world.

The mod allows you to add textures on the fly to craftable blocks, stairs, fences, and slopes. You place the blank blocks wherever you see fit and then simply right-click with any other block to add its texture to them.

Two new tools, the hammer and chisel, allow for even further customization like changing a block’s shape or direction after placing it.
