Lootable Bodies

This mod allows your items to be stored within a corpse of your dead body rather than at risk of despawning after a few minutes. This way your items won’t disappear after you die and you can loot your old body to get them back!

No matter what happens to cause your death, your items will remain safe. So whether you die by explosion or lava that would normally destroy items as you drop them, this mod will prevent that as your dead body is basically invulnerable to harm.

This is great for accidental mining deaths when lava suddenly shows up or if creepers happen to sneak up on you. All you need to do is go find your dead body and right-click to take your stuff back. The only caveat is that some items that can take damage like armor and tools will be slightly harmed.

Then once you’ve looted your body, you’ll need to rid of it somehow. If you hit the body 3 times with a shovel it will disappear!

Mineralogy

The Minerology mod aims to provide a much more realistic geographic layout to the game. It gives you several new types of stone and layers the ground in a better accordance with sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rock layers.

Sand looks more like actual sand and mountains are broken up into layers as well.

With all these new layers you’ll get many new minerals that are mostly aesthetic but give you a bunch of new options for building with stone blocks. Plus you can make polished blocks with many of the new minerals when you stack 4 together.

And you can now mine gypsum so when combined with paper you can make drywall. Add that with any color dye and you can make actual thin walls for your home.

Unfortunately it won’t work quite as well on current saves so you’ll need to create a new world in order for the layers to take effect.

Dr. Cyano’s Wonderful Wands and Wizarding Robes

Dr. Cyano’s Wands and Robes mod does as it says: gives you a series of wizard/witch robes and wands. The wands come with many new abilities and powers and the robes make you look the part.

The robes are crafted the same as regular armor except with purple wool. You can then dye the robes any color you like by combining the finished garments with dye. The witch/wizard hat will allow you to take on the effects of any potion you take while wearing it. So whenever you put that hat on it will apply the effect to you infinitely.

But the wands are what make this mod very interesting. You can do a great deal of magical things like simply creating light with the Wand of Light.

Creating bridges instantly over bodies or water/lava.

Or you can gain a heft of protection with wands that fire projectiles like magic arrows, fireballs, and lightning.

The wands are costly and require emeralds to make so use them wisely. But perhaps the costliest wand is the Wand of Death. It requires two additional Wither Skulls with an emerald but will kill enemies with one hit.
