The Gravestone Mod makes the world of Minecraft a little spookier. It will generate a gravestone for you when you die but it will also do so for any tamed pets you have. It will hold the loot you had before you died as well. But beyond that the mod is so much more. You’ll find spawners for skeletons or withers randomly appearing in your world. Plus you may even come across cemeteries and the wither’s catacombs. Be prepared for the unexpected.
There are 3 possible gravestones for you or villagers to have. Each will have an epitaph written on them and if you have a sword in your inventory you have a chance of having it appear as your grave. You will also find random graves and memorials throughout the game of various mobs and animals who died at some point. Each one has an epitaph written on them as well.
Aside from the convenience of your inventory saving upon your death in an eloquently marked spot, if your lovable pet should fall you have a chance to revive them.
With each pet gravestone, you’ll be able to dig its corpse up. As morbid as that may be, this is the only way you’ll get your dog, cat or horse back. Once you have the body you’ll need to build an altar and with a little experience you can revive your pet back to its old self.
The Catacombs is a massive structure that delves deep underground. You’ll find it at the center of a big cemetery with a mausoleum. It’s creepy and full of mobs, traps and loot. Plus it’s guarded by the aforementioned wither deep underground so tread lightly.
You’ll come across new spawners in the Catacombs. These function a little differently than normal spawners. Skeleton Spawners will generate any type of skeleton including the ones added with this mod like skeleton dogs and cats and the same goes for the zombie spawner. The wither spawner is only found deep in the wither’s catacombs but will obviously spawn none other than a wither. If you happen to make it down that far, pray that you have the skill to survive the wither. And once you do you have a Nether Portal to look forward to. Good luck!
